Thanks for the kudos! Doc's my favorite "Cars" character, too.

Some things about me:

You may wonder about my handle here on Dizpins: losing patience. I have had the weird happenstance of trying to register on a website and having every doggone user name I try to register under come back with the error message "That User Name is Already in Use." After six or seven tries, it gets annoying. So at that point with my original registration with the old host, I was losing patience -- and I said to myself, "Well, why not try that?" So I did, and it stuck. On another website where I had a similar experience, I ended up with the handle "herewegoagain" because that's exactly what I was thinking about having all my user name attempts already taken! And it's not like I'm using common, mundane user names!

So what about me? Well, I was introduced to pin trading by my daughter E-beth, whose Dispins handle is ImagineEpcot. Which tells you that I'm rather an old bat. Even so, I've gone back to college and am now a student at The University of North Florida . I already have degrees (bachelor's and master's) from Florida State University from the 1960s. The bachelor's degree was in government and the master's in library science. But I'm going in a different direction now, and a different degree is in order -- this time with a double major in Spanish and history.

It has been my life experience that I'd get started down a career path, and the door would get slammed in my face, for a variety of reasons (most of the time external ones, such as family crises or health). So I've developed the habit of looking for another door to open or at least a window to crawl through.

As you can see from my webpage I have a variety of interests, including having authored a book about the television series Hawaii Five-0. So I'm rather broad-based. In more ways than one, alas.

I actually have another webpage -- my University of North Florida page. I need to update both of them, but someone will have to put a couple more hours in each day for that!

Right now, in addition to coming into the last month of the term with exams, papers, and other stuff, I'm getting ready to get on an airplane --something I do not relish at all -- and fly to Seville, Spain, to spend two months doing research into Florida's Spanish colonial history at the General Archive of the Indies. I'm going to be reading original documents in old-fashioned handwriting in Spanish. I already have my order in for a new pair of eyes after that's done with.

That's all the news that's fit to print right now.
